Overview
OwnCalc ("we", "us", or "our") operates the website at owncalc.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights in relation to it. We have designed OwnCalc with privacy as a default — all calculations run entirely inside your browser and your financial inputs are never transmitted to our servers.
Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect, store, or have access to any of the following:
- Your home price, income, loan amount, or any other financial figures you enter into our calculators
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact information
- Your IP address in connection with calculator usage
- Any personally identifiable information of any kind
All calculator inputs and results exist only in your browser's memory and are discarded when you close or navigate away from the page.
Information We Do Collect
Analytics. We use Google Analytics (GA4) to collect anonymised, aggregated data about how visitors use our site — including pages visited, time on page, device type, and general geographic region (country or region level, not precise location). This data contains no personally identifiable information and is used solely to improve the site.
Advertising. We use Google AdSense to display advertisements. Google may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google's Ads Settings.
Local storage. We store a single item in your browser's local storage to remember your dark/light mode preference. This data never leaves your device.
Cookies
OwnCalc itself does not set any cookies. Google Analytics and Google AdSense may set cookies on your device in accordance with Google's own privacy policies. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time.
Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

- Google Fonts — Font files are loaded from Google's CDN. Google may log request metadata. See Google Privacy Policy.
Data Retention
Because we do not collect your personal data, there is no personal data for us to retain or delete. Google Analytics data is retained in anonymised, aggregated form for up to 26 months, as governed by Google's standard retention policy.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under applicable privacy laws including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you. As we hold no personal data about you, there is typically nothing to access or delete. If you have a question about data held by Google in connection with Analytics or AdSense, please refer to Google's privacy controls directly.
Children's Privacy
OwnCalc is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through our site, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
